The 2026 Team Policy Debate Tournament, sponsored by Open Forum in partnership with Watermark Writing, brings together a dynamic and diverse community of middle and high school students for a rigorous, high-impact debate experience. Rooted in Watermark Writing’s mission to “teach with the end in mind,” this tournament emphasizes clarity of thought, strength of argument, and confident delivery under pressure. Competitors will engage in intellectually challenging rounds designed to sharpen critical thinking, refine persuasive speaking, and build real-world communication skills. With opportunities for novice participants and a structure that encourages multiple event entries, the tournament offers a uniquely enriching environment where students grow as thinkers, speakers, and leaders.
